2023 4-H Special Gardening/Agronomy Projects
4-H families have the opportunity to participate in the special garden and/or special agronomy projects this year.
The Special Garden Project is 'Mrs. Burns' lemon basil. This herb can be used multiple ways. Lemon basil has a unique lemon flavor can be added to any recipe or used as a cut flower in arrangements to add scent and interest.
The Special Agronomy Project is tepary beans. This legume can be enjoyed as a dry edible bean in cooking or as a forage or hay for livestock and is drought tolerant. In fact, too much water can reduce stands and yields.
Seed packets are no longer available for 2023. Watch for information coming soon on 2024's special project plants.
