Hope Bauman is receiving Lancaster County 4‑H’s August “Heart of 4‑H Award” in recognition of outstanding volunteer service. She has helped in a variety of ways for 6 years, including as leader of the Southern Lancaster Kids 4‑H club and a parent volunteer with the Rabbits R Us club. She helps both clubs do community service projects such as connecting with nursing home residents, helping at Kiwanis Karnival and staffing shifts at 4‑H Council’s food stand during the Lancaster County Super Fair. At Super Fair, Hope is co-superintendent of the static exhibits General Areas.
Hope says, “I grew up in 4‑H and feel like so many of the skills I learned as a member have translated into skills and talents I have as an adult in my daily life now. I am so glad that I can share that with not only my own children, but also other children, and that I can help them find, explore and grow their passions and challenge themselves to explore new things that may someday become a new passion.”
