See All Heart of 4-H WinnersLancaster County 4-H is proud to announce Taylor Yakel of Lincoln as winner of the February “Heart of 4-H Award” in recognition of outstanding volunteer service.
Taylor has assisted her mother and grandparents with the 4-H Food & Nutrition and Science, Engineering & Technology and Safety areas at the Lancaster County Super Fair for 14 years, starting when she was 8-years old. She became a superintendent of Food & Nutrition three years ago when she aged out of 4-H. She has assisted her grandfather, Ron Suing, with the Rocketry workshop at 4-H Clover College and helped her multi-generational family present the 4-H Bicycle Safety Contest.
“I like being a 4-H volunteer because I get to spend time with family while engaging with the community,” Taylor says. “My favorite experience is probably launch day at Clover College. My grandpa and I help the kids launch their rockets they spent the week building.”
