Scott and Carole Johnson are receiving the Lancaster County 4-H June “Heart of 4-H Award” in recognition of outstanding volunteer service. They have volunteered in a variety of ways.

For five years, when their daughters were in 4-H, Scott and Carole served as parent helpers with the Country Pals 4-H club and the original llama club. They also helped at 4-H Council’s food stand during the Lancaster County Fair. For the past 3 years, the Johnsons have volunteered during 4-H static exhibit check-in and judging day at the Super Fair. In addition, they help a neighboring family’s four children create a wide variety of static exhibit projects such as woodworking and sewing.

Carole says, “We like being 4-H volunteers because it’s a great family-oriented organization and it’s an opportunity to teach some awesome kids life-long skills.”
