Kim Kempkes is receiving the Lancaster County 4-H October “Heart of 4-H Award.” She is the Greater Lincoln Obedience Club (GLOC) Training Director and has donated her time and talents to the 4-H dog program for about 5 years. Kim and the GLOC have provided agility equipment for the 4-H Dog Show at the Lancaster County Super Fair, hauling the equipment to the fairgrounds, provided volunteers to help with scoring and assisting with set up. Kim has presented 4-H dog workshops for 3 years teaching youth and their dogs obedience, showmanship, agility coursework and rally. In addition, she has judged at 4-H dog shows at other county fairs in Nebraska.

“I was in 4-H as a youth and really enjoyed it,” says Kim. “I love giving back to the program and hope to encourage youth to stay in the dog world after 4-H.”
