What do you do if you need a few tablespoons of white or brown sugar in a hurry and your sugar is hard as a rock?
Smash it with a mortar and pestle!
This handy tool also is also great for pulverizing that last small piece of whole nutmeg.
Sometimes, added flavor can be released from older herbs by crushing them with a mortar and pestle.
Purchase a mortar and pestle at a store that sells kitchenware.
