Join Hands Day: This day brings youth and adults together to improve their own communities. A benefit of the day comes through the friendships that will be made across generations. May 2, 2009 is the next Join Hands Day!
Teens, Crime and the Community: The Teens, Crime, and the Community (TCC) initiative has motivated more than one million young people to create safer schools and neighborhoods. The program helps teens understand how crime affects them and their families, friends, and communities, and it involves them in crime prevention projects to help make their communities safer and more vital. Taking it Global: An online community that connects youth to find inspiration, access information, get involved, and take action in their local and global communities. This current events site provides an international forum for youth interested in dialogue on global events and social issues. This site is run partnership with the YMCA of Greater Toronto and numerous international non-governmental organizations.
National Kids Day! Annually on the first Sunday in August. NKD is a day to celebrate and honor America's children. Boy & Girls Clubs of America, 4-H, Kids Peace, and YMCA united to establish this national tradition, encouraging adults and children to share in relationship-building activities that create positive and memorable experiences.
