Candling Eggs in the Classroom

Each egg in the incubator is checked to see how the embryo is growing. The eggs may be checked several times before they hatch.

Embryo Photo Credits: The embryo preparation, photos and text are by Dr. Gayner McDaniel, Poultry Science Department, Auburn University, Auburn, Alabama. These images appear on a poster sponsored Hy-Line. The poster is provided to each classroom in Lancaster County, Nebraska participating in the 4-H School Enrichment Embryology project. Credits
