The 4-H Citizen Safety Project

Citizen Safety is one of more than 150 projects offered by the University of Nebraska Cooperative Extension 4-H Youth Development program. 4-H is open to all youth ages 5-19.

The Citizen Safety 4-H project manual* developed by the Nebraska 4-H office teaches youth to participate in their community as a safe citizen.

Here are a few excepts from the manual. You are invited to read, work, think and discover more about safety with the following activities!

4-H'ers enrolled in this project can enter the following exhibits at their County Fair (see Lancaster County Fair Book)

  • First Aid Kit
  • Disaster Kit
  • Safety Scrapbook
  • Fire Safety Drawing
  • Fire Safety Scrapbook
  • Fire Prevention Poster
