Awards for 4-H Members:
4-H Project Completion Certificates (no deadline). When a 4-H member completes a 4-H project, their 4-H club leader, or the parents/guardians of independent members, can present them with certificate to recognize their achievements. These certificates can be completed on-line. 4-H Project Completion Certificate Form.
Community Service Awards (was due December 31)
Description: all Lancaster County 4-H members are eligible to apply for this award which is based on the number of hours of community service through 4-H. There will be two categories: 5 winners in the age 14 & over division and 10 winners in the age 13 & under division. Form can be filled out by club leader, parent/guardian or 4-H member. I Dare You Leadership Award (was due December 31)
Description: Each year, Lancaster County 4-H selects two 4-H members who are juniors or seniors to be awarded I Dare You Leadership Awards on behalf of the American Youth Foundation [http://www.ayf.com]. The award recognizes youth who strive to be their personal best and make a positive difference in their schools, youth groups, 4-H clubs, and communities. They do not need to hold leadership positions currently, but should be recognized by peers and adults who work with them as emerging leaders. Nominations may be made by 4-H leaders, parents or friends. They may also be self-nominated. Award Deadline has passed
Nebraska 4-H Diamond Clover Award (Lancaster County deadline was December 31)
Description: The Nebraska 4-H Diamond Clover Program recognizes the accomplishments of 4-H’ers ages 8-18. Youth can progress from Level 1 up to Level 6. At the beginning of the 4-H year, youth choose goals from a provided list and at the end of the 4-H year, fill out a report which documents their accomplishments. Diamond Clover Award Web site
Nebraska 4-H Career Portfolios: (Lancaster County deadline was December 31)
Description: Career portfolios are a record of your 4-H Career. They include a listing of your personal growth and leadership experiences related to the knowledge learned, skills gained and community service/volunteer activities experienced through 4-H. Career portfolios focus on one of Nebraska 4-H's eight curriculum areas: Animal Science, Communication & Expressive Arts, Consumer & Family Science, Environmental Education & Earth Sciences, Healthy Lifestyles Education, Leadership & Citizenship, Plant Science, and Science & Technology. In Lancaster County, 4-H members who complete two years of a 4-H project may submit a Career Portfolio in that corresponding curriculum area (each 4-H'er may submit one portfolio in each of the eight curriculum areas). Lancaster County 4-H selects the top qualifying career portfolios to advance to the state level. 4-H members ages 15-19 can qualify to have two career portfolios sent to state. State winners are eligible to attend National 4-H Congress. County winners are announced at 4-H Achievement Night. Outstanding 4-H Member Award (deadline was December 31)
Description: presented to an individual 14 years of age or older who has excelled in their involvement with the 4-H program. The basis for selection appraises the variety and depth of 4-H activities. Awards for 4-H Volunteers:
Meritorious Service Award (deadline was December 31)
Description: presented to individuals or organizations who have exhibited consistent and strong support of the Lancaster County 4-H program. 4-H members are not eligible. Anyone can make nominations. Award Deadline has passed
Heart of 4-H Award (ongoing -no deadline) -- Lancaster County 4-H presents a Heart of 4-H Award to a Lancaster County 4-H volunteer each month! Announced monthly in The Nebline newsletter. On-line Nomination Form
4-H Club Awards
Governor’s Agricultural Excellence Awards (deadline usually March 1)
Awards presented at UNL’s East Campus the end of June). Sponsored by the Nebraska Investment Finance Authority in cooperation with the Nebraska 4-H Foundation. These awards recognize 25 4-H clubs each year for the work of the individuals in the club and the community service work of the entire club. Recognition is in the form of $500 checks issued to the club’s treasury to be used as described in the award application form completed by the club. Award Form
Nebraska 4-H Clubs of Excellence (Lancaster County deadline was December 31).
4-H clubs which have met criteria outlined by the state 4-H office are recognized as a “Club of Excellence.” Some of the criteria includes: choose/elect youth officers, have one club project (related to curriculum) which they do together and complete one community service project. Forms are to be filled out by club leaders. Award Deadline has passed
Nebraska 4-H Club of the Month -- Any Nebraska 4-H club may nominate themselves to be the Club of the Month. Nominations are due the second Friday of the month before the club will be the Club of the Month. The club who is chosen to be Club of the Month will receive a $50 cash card from the Nebraska 4-H Foundation and their story will be showcased on the Nebraska 4-H Foundation’s Facebook, Twitter, and website along with the State 4-H website and Facebook and in their local newspaper. Camp Scholarships for Lancaster County Youth:
4-H Camp Discount: -- Everyone is eligible for a 10% Discount - register BEFORE APRIL 15. You don't have to be in 4-H to go to a Nebraska 4-H Summer Camp. Learn more
Lancaster County 4-H Camp Scholarship -- Two Lancaster County 4-H members will receive full scholarships to attend a summer camp at any of the three Nebraska 4-H Camp locations: Grenta, Halsey and Alma! Applicants must be age 9 or older and currently enrolled in 4-H. Application deadline is May 1--preference given to applications submitted by March 1. Application Form
Big Red Academic Camps: Applications must be postmarked by April 1 to be eligble for scholarships. Limited scholarships are available to attend all Big Red Summer Academic Camps - Camp Registration/Information.
College Scholarships for High School Seniors:

4-H Council (deadline was December 31) --
Description: six $500 scholarships to active Lancaster County 4-H members who have excelled in their involvement with the 4-H program. The basis for selection appraises the variety and depth of 4-H activities. Award Deadline has passed
4-H Teen Council (deadline was December 31) --
Description: two $250 scholarships to 4-H'ers who are active in Lancaster County 4-H Teen Council. The basis for selection appraises the variety and depth of Teen Council activities. Applicant must help with at least one major activity during their senior year. Award Deadline has passed
Lane Community 4-H Scholarship: (deadline was December 31) --
Description: one $200 scholarship to a Lancaster County 4-H member attending Raymond Central High School. Award Deadline has passed
Lincoln Center Kiwanis: (deadline was December 31) --
Description: one $1,000 scholarship to an active Lancaster County 4-H member. The basis for selection includes variety and depth of 4-H activities, scholastic standing, activity involvement and financial need. Award Deadline has passed
Lancaster County 4-H/FFA Livestock Booster Club (deadline July 5) --
Description: two $500 scholarships to youth who have exhibited production livestock in 4-H or FFA in Lancaster County. Application (Not yet available)
Nebraska Association of Fair Managers - Martha & Don Romeo Scholarship (deadline was December 1)--
Description:
two $500 scholarships to Nebraska 4-H'ers. Each applicant must have exhibited his/her projects in a county fair or at the State Fair within the last four years. Lancaster County 4-H selects the county finalist. Award Deadline has passed
Nebraska 4-H Scholarships (deadline March 1) --
Descriptions: there are several statewide Nebraska 4-H scholarships: Orschlen Industries Foundation (4 x $1,000 each), Horse-Grand Island Saddle Club (4 x $1,000 each) and R. B. current academic year. Scholarship Includes: One $1,000 scholarship at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources (CASNR)
or in the College of Education and Human Sciences (CEHS) for an incoming student (freshmen or transfer student) | One $500 scholarship for a current student (sophomore or higher) enrolled in CASNR or CEHS. Application & Details
